Okay, so one faithful follower, (thank you Glenda), said she is still reading my blog and watching for family updates, etc. Here we go....fasten your seat belts!
First, we will start with Jen. Jen's baby is due April 9. She has over come the Hyperemesis gravidarum . Yay! She is hyper nauseated, but she can eat and drink and for the most part smiles and has color in her face. However, she has been having labor pains for the last week. She has been to labor and delivery two times this week. The first time, because she was having very severe back pains and the doctor wanted to have her checked out. They gave her a shot to stop the labor pains that didn't work. They kept her a while longer, gave her a second shot, got the pains to lessen, then sent her home. Then she went for her regular weekly doctor's appointment on Thursday. A full blown exam....if ya know what I mean. The doctor said things looked okay, (how do you phrase that without sounding....weird), told her to get dressed and left the room. When she stood up all heck broke lose. She thought her water broke, but it was in fact blood. Lots and lots of blood. Her sock filled up and she was standing in a puddle. She grabbed a sheet and the door. The nurse was outside the door, fortunately, and the nurse got the doctor. He decided he probably nicked a blood vein during the exam. They sent her on her way. After and hour and a half, when the bleeding had not stopped, she had to go back to the labor and delivery at the hospital for the second time in the week. They did an ultra sound and a stress test. Everything is fine. The new baby is 6 pounds 8 ounces and scored an 8 out of 10, which is good. Baby is still in the oven!
Second, my Mom. Mom is mom. Strong willed....okay, I know where I get it already!! She is determined to drive. She wants to drive to Kansas City to see us just to test her endurance. At the expense of everyone else driving on the streets that day. Mom cannot lift her right foot. I'll let this sink in a moment. Okay, the right foot is the one that goes on the gas pedal as well as the break pedal. Yikes!! I have threatened to call the police if she tries it, which made me the least favorite child and probably got my name blotted out of the will. Oh well!
Mom kept saying she was going back to work in February. Didn't happen. Actually, it is never going to happen. Mom is a door greeter at Wal-Mart, which is where she was when she had the stoke. This is where I get a bit bitter, so stay with me here. Wal-Mart handled a stroke totally wrong. She told them she was having a stroke so the lady in charge asked her what she wanted to do. Huh?! You have to be kidding me!!! Mom, who doesn't want to draw attention to herself (that is the difference in the two of us), said, "No, don't call an ambulance, just call my son, he will come and get me." So the lady walked my mom to the back of the store and cleaned out her locker. I am angry with Wal-Mart. When the commercials say, "Time lost is brain lost." They are not just a whistling Dixie.
Mom has not gone back to work, but I wouldn't be surprised if she doesn't try. And maybe she needs to try so she can see that it is impossible. She will drive over there as she does almost everyday.
About the trip to Kansas City, she says she will drive slow. I will let you all know when not to be on the streets in Missouri....If I know. I am afraid I will just get a phone call saying they have her in jail or worse the hospital...or worse....
Third, my dear aunt who had been struggling with COPD for a while finally began the fight of her life in November. At the end of February my Aunt Lora lost her struggle and went to be with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. I know without a doubt that my aunt is in a much better place, but we will miss her until we see her again. Then what a reunion it will be.
Now, about me. I have started going to the gym faithfully. I have hired a personal trainer to help me know what to do to build my muscles, stamina and help me train for a 5K. Yes, I need someone to teach me how to run. Rod thinks I'm goofy. He can't figure out why I didn't just let him help me. Right! I would poke his eyeballs out and tear his ears off his head before it was over. Not a good idea....I wouldn't want him to become disabled over a simple trip to the gym.
Okay, and my quilting machine is sold. I will know today to whom. I have a buyer on each end of the United States. Two buyers locally, which would be a lot easier keep coming up with excuses. Too bad, so sad....it would be easy to deliver locally. But I think the best woman will win. Time will tell.
I think that is about it. My life in a nutshell....

I'm so glad Jen is over the nausea ! She's going to deliver early, maybe on my birthday ? I know stubborn moms ! As far as Rod helping you train or workout ---- run the other way ! Nothing good will come of that. I know we love our hubbies, but this is a time to step away ! Glad you've sold your machine, but hate the fact you don't hang out on the chat anymore ! Hope to see you in May. Post some pic's on chat when the new baby gets here, as well as Miss Priss ! Glenda
