It Ain't Just Me

Yay!! After my weekend with my mother-in-law I thought maybe it was just me being sensitive. Today I talked to my daughter-in-law who had been there too. I said, "Mary was in rare form last weekend." Becky said, "Oh my gosh....I have never seen her like that before. She treated you like dirt all weekend!" Welcome to the family!

I talked with Rod on the phone today and told him what Becky said. He said, "What is wrong with her?" Then I felt bad and started making excuses for her. Drat!! I hate myself for that. I said, "Maybe she is depressed or something." Drat!!! I hate myself for that.

Hopefully I will not have to go visit her again....ever!! Maybe, just maybe, I can stay home in a quiet house and Rod can go spend the weekend with her and she will be happy as a clam! I know I will.

Hi Mary Beth; re: your comment on my blog - I am such a book lover and as my interests have changed so did by book choices. Right now my main interest is sewing so it's sewing books.
My Number 1 resource book would be Power Sewing by Sandra Betzina. It's #1 because from it I have learned several techniques that have proved extremely helpful in my sewing, such as installing front fly zippers, decreasing sleeve cap ease, matching plaids, and some Chanel jacket couture pointers. This book is not exactly a basic sewing reference, but I like it very much.
My 2nd most used book is The Singer Sewing Reference Library Tailoring book because I am a jacket fanatic and have sort of gotten hooked on tailoring techniques that I think make my jackets look and wear more like ready to wear.
The 3rd most used is Pants for Real People by Pati Palmer & Marta Alto because I make and wear lots of pants because they help me camouflage a medical problem. Because I wear pants so much, they must fit well and look nice for me to be satisfied with them. The pants book has helped me out quite a bit.
Although I just recently added the Reader's Digest book, I think it will become one of my favorites too.
I have lots of books, but because I am a real fanatic about them, there are many more that are on my list, and I buy a few when the budget will allow.
What books do you like?
P.S. Thank you for reading my blog!

Mary Beth, are you sure we don't have the same mother in law? :)

my mother in law doesn't like any of the daughter in laws and she says very hurtful things and doesn't care. We just smile and walk away....we know it drives her crazy...we have learned, that we (sisters in law) stick together and do our thing(s) and force the sons to handle their mom.
